Really enjoyed very much what
you have on this site. I would
be very interested in any
news broadcast programs from
1941 through 1946. Would you
have any of these airing at
any particular time, or perhaps
know another site that may
have these programs? Please
advise.
Thank you.

I was 11 when I began my career
in radio in 1950. It's become
tougher-and-tougher to recall
the misspent days of my youth,
especially now that the local
station has dropped it's "The
Music of Your Life" format
in favor of (gAAGH!) yet another
"classic rock" presentation.
Hope YUSA hits my memory buttons.

A really great site.

either on radio or later when
some went on to TV. So you
certainly have a potential
audiance in this country.
I hope that you will run some

I just wanted to let you know
that I really enjoy your website.
I am just old enough (40)
that I don't remember these
shows live, but listening
to them takes me to times
and places I've never been.
I am a real otr fan, but it
is hard to hear otr shows
such as When radio was since
no local station broadcasts
it and some of the clear channel
stations I can hear tend to
fade in and out at night.
I first heard your station
on my brother's C-band satellite
dish several years ago and
thought at that time that
I would like to hear more
of it. I thank you for your
efforts and would like to

As a kid growing up in the
40's and early 50's, I really
enjoy listening to OTR on
YUSA. I especially remember
sitting on the floor in front
of the big old Philco and
listening to Jack Benny on
Sunday nights. It was very
upsetting when CBS made the
"big raid" on NBC in 1948
as the local CBS station did
not have the power of the
NBC station and was hard to
get. I got the radio bug so
bad that I went into the business
when I got out of the service.
I was running the board at
WINF in Manchester, Ct. (Hartrford)
on the Sunday night that CBS
broadcast Yours Truly, Johnny
Dollar and Gunsmoke for the
last time. Being young and
not too bright, I never thought
to run the tape machine. I
will be sending in a check
to be a member of YUSA.

Listening brings back very
fond memories of sitting on
the floor and listening to
the radio and having my grandmother
and my parents explain some
of what I did not understand.
When TV came around and the
radio shows went silent, it
left a big void. Todays kids
don't seem to be able to close
thier eyes and see the Green
Hornet with kato racing down
the street. Please keep up
the great job. I will mail
my local cable Co. to add
you their listing.

I used to listen to YUSA on
my backyard C-band satellite
system. About 2 weeks ago,
I finally got myself a home
computer system. This has
been my greatest find, so
far! It is just great to be
able to listen to YUSA again!
During the time I had not
been able to receive YUSA,
I have collected A LOT of
old radio shows on audio cassettes.
I guess I got addicted by
listening to YUSA! I really
missed it! I got one of the

the doll and I wouldn`t part
with it for anything! Thank

Hello Bill,
I am a faithful listener of
Yesterday USA and I tape your
programs off my Satellite
C Band G1-24. I was interested
in your comments about sponsoring
a show where that a person
can become the announcer for
the time it is aired. I was
very surprised to hear one
of your members who was from
Timmins Ontario who was sponsoring
a show that night. In the
very near future I fully intend
to join up and become a member
myself. I just love it and
it has taken me back to my
childhood many times. What
could be more enjoyable than
to sit in your favourite chair,
turn off the lights and drift
back in time and let your
mind wander. I form pictures
in my mind of what everything
and everybody would look like.
I guess it's what you would
call watching Old Time Radio.
Best Regards,
Andy March 10 1998
