Aug. - Sept. 97 Guestbook Entries

Rodgers F. (Rod) Stone - Phoenix, AZ

I grew up before TV; old time radio is just as good
    as I remember it!

Lawrence Stanfield - Norfolk,Va., USA

As a salesman with a local territory I enjoyed radio shows as a regular feature on WFOS in Chesapeake ,Va. It is a local station of the Chesapeake public schools.Every day at lunch I would pull to the side of the road and listen to Jack Benny,Phil Harris and Alice Faye ,Our Miss Brooks Amos n Andy ,Fred Allen, and Gunsmoke. There were many more I really enjoyed, however, these were my favorites. Because of some medical problems I had to come off the road and work behind a desk. This put an end to my listening ;that is until I bought a computer and found your webb site. I can turn you on and listen while I use the computer for any kind of search. The way it usually works, though,is I become so interested in your broadcasts I stop what I'm doing and listen.

I was born in 1944, so the early fifties were great years for me. I was at a very impressionable age as the banner years of radio were ending and the same was starting for TV. I can still recall certain scenes from early radio that were created in my mind. This was when being a kid "required" imagination! I find it hard to retire for the night without radio, satellite or taped "Old Time Radio". I'll be sending a check soon to help pay for your programming. Thanks for being there,

    Bill,
I don't think I can say it any better than I did before....
I can not express adequately what your broadcast means to me. It brings back so many fond memories from my youth. My father was stationed in Germany during the early '60s and at that time there was no TV. The radio was all we had and I can remember to this day listening to X-1 (my favorite), Dragnet, Gun Smoke, and the Arthur Godfrey Show. You present such a wholesome outstanding program. A real alternative to what is passed
off as "entertainment" today. Keep up the good work!!
